Dr. Koenig is a graduate of Bishop McGuinness High School. He received his BS in Exercise and Fitness Management at the University of Central Oklahoma and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City.
Prior to entering chiropractic school, Dr. Koenig managed Gold’s Gym on Broadway and Memorial for 11 years. Besides management duties, Dr. Koenig was a certified personal trainer and nutrition technician, working with clients to attain and maintain their quality of life and fitness goals.
This experience led him to pursue a career in chiropractic, so he can help people attain a better quality of life through natural and holistic health care. Dr. Koenig's fitness and athletic background allowed him to develop a healthcare philosophy of total body health and wellness care. His patients are not just treated for back pain or headaches; they receive total health and wellness care, utilizing educational consultations to help enhance all aspects of daily life through healthier living.
His background gives him the opportunity to work with all ages and level of patients from newborns to retired farmers, and from weekend warriors to elite athletes. He knows patients have individual healthcare needs and goals and believes they should have options. That is why at PMO, patients are given individualized health care plans to match their level of needs and commitment to health.

Dr. McMahan and his wife have three children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing acoustic guitar.
Dr. Cox graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2010, where he found his passion for helping others. With an athletic training and sports medicine background, he went on to Parker Chiropractic College, graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2014.
The focus of Dr. Cox’s treatment is functionality of movement. Dr. Cox is also a certified vitamin, mineral and nutritional supplement injectables chiropractor. He is here to help “as many people as (he) can."
Paul Lowe was born in Oklahoma and graduated from Jones High School. He received a BS from the University of Central Oklahoma. He went on to obtain his Master of Health Science degree from OU Health Science Center. For nine years, he worked in primary and urgent care helping Oklahomans achieve better health and a higher quality of life before coming on board at PMO.
Paul and his wife have one daughter and they enjoy spending time on their family farm in Jones. He is also a member of the Saltfork Craftsmen Artist-Blacksmith Association.
Dr. Karen Mahlmeister, DC, brings over 25 years of Chiropractic experience to Physical Medicine of Oklahoma. In 1995, she opened Dr. Karen's Wellness Center in Edmond. Dr. Karen had a very successful practice and was voted Edmond's "Favorite" or "Best" Chiropractor 14 times.
In 2014, she retired and sold her practice. However she missed working with patients, so when Dr. Koenig asked her to help out while he recuperated, she was delighted to do so.
Dr. Richard Leavitt is an athletic trainer, exercise therapist, and chiropractor with Physical Medicine of Oklahoma. Dr. Leavitt brings 31 years of experience to PMO working with some of the world's best athletes in professional sports and their teams. He's treated thousands of patients in the clinical setting, treating patients as he would a professional athlete to allow them to perform their best in life. Dr. Leavitt brings a diverse educational background in physical medicine as well as experience running a large physical therapist clinic for 25 years and teaching classes in exercise and rehab at numerous major colleges. Currently, he's writing two books on exercise science and personal development. In his spare time Dr. Leavitt is actively involved in training horses and competing in rodeo.
Laura was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Charles Page High School in Sand Springs in 2003. She received a BS in Health and Exercise Sciences from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She went on to obtain her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2011. She has worked extensively treating a variety of orthopedic conditions and post-operative patients. In addition, Laura has spent several years working in home health helping patients to achieve function and independence in their daily lives. She is also certified in dry needling.
Laura has one daughter, Ellie, and they enjoy spending time with friends, family and their two dogs, Penny and Emmy.
