A person who experiences headaches or migraines may have a difficult time enjoying life. Headaches interfere with work, family, and relaxation. Migraines may put any of us out of commission for hours or days. When our patients tell us that they suffer from headaches or migraines, we take this problem very seriously.
If you suffer from this problem, you may already have been told to use over-the-counter or prescription medication to cope with the pain. We have completely different methods of improving these symptoms. But really, our focus is digging right down to the causes and alleviating those as well. When we can restore the enjoyment of life to a person plagued with frequent headaches and eliminate the need for pain relievers, we are just as happy as the patient.
Finding the Right Cause of Headaches and Migraines
There are many different headaches, differing in where the pain is felt, how long it lasts, what seems to trigger it, and what the symptoms are. We have many tools at our fingertips to diagnose causes and begin to eliminate them one by one.
Our first job is understanding the pattern of the headaches and the patient’s medical history. We need to know if there have been accidents or surgeries in the past that could be contributing to this problem.
We will then plan a therapeutic program specifically for each person based on their set of symptoms. We may find that lifestyle consulting and a nutritional supplementation program will help normalize their body and alleviate this pain and disability. We may work with a patient to eliminate foods, chemicals, or other influences they react to without realizing it.
Chiropractic Care Offers Great Benefits
Chiropractic care has contributed to the recovery of many of our patients suffering from headaches. Small accidents and traumas, fender-benders and too much sitting all take a toll on spinal alignment and fitness. These can be factors in causing headaches and migraines. Improving fitness with our exercise recommendations and aligning the whole body with chiropractic can bring relief to so many patients.
Physiotherapy may be added to a program to return normal function to muscles and joints if tightness and mobility loss stress the body and help trigger headaches.
With all these therapies available, we feel very rich in providing relief to our patients that lose too much enjoyment of life to headaches and migraines. Please contact us and let us see how we can help you enjoy more of your life, free at last from headaches or migraines.
